Thirty years ago I married into a Solana Beach family. Roberto’s was my Brooklyn girl introduction to the San Diego hard shell taco. Total revelation. Thank you for this.
When I listened to this new edition of Good Food, I strained to catch the name of the restaurant competing with **vegan tacos.** The place was mentioned a few times, but I could never figure out its name or spelling. (I listened more than once.) Then I clicked around to see if I could find a list that would name the final competitors. No luck. Could you please let me know its name? (Extra cool if you also included its approximate location.) Thank you!
I have listened to Good Food since before you were the host, and I celebrated when you took over. The show is wonderful—so informative—and you are a fantastic interviewer. I LOVE Good Food. Keep on keeping on.
Wonderful LA memories extolled. Happy childhood memories at Olvera Street and also Burrito King on Sunset in Echo Park as I always favored burritos over tacos and still do.
Living here in Venice after hiking our Sunday go to is either Pacos or La Cabana . But I wanted you to know about Tacqeria Chihuahua in a strip mall on Washington. Bl. My go to there is a bean & cheese burrito add lettuce , tomato and qucamole (not avocado). but just had a combo plate of taco dorado beef and cheese enchilada combo . Really excellent- can't recommend enough. if you go at lunch time every Latin worker for miles around is in line. Thanks
I grew up in Long Beach, so I was puzzled when soft tacos started showing up. I didn't realize that was the original taco for most eaters. The hard taco will always be my fave.

Taco editor and chief is maybe a job I didn’t know I needed…
Just wrote a piece on the history of the taco
